The two family houses are set into the sloping terrain of Devín, with views towards the surrounding landscape, the Danube River and Devín Castle. The design responds to the site’s natural topography while seeking to minimise its impact on the silhouette of the hillside.
The houses are composed as simple horizontal volumes that follow the slope and open towards the views. Their staggered arrangement and positioning at different levels provide privacy, while generous glazing, terraces and loggias establish a close connection between the living spaces and the landscape.
The architecture is deliberately restrained and minimalist. A muted, earthy colour palette draws on the natural tones of the surroundings and continues into the interiors, complemented by mineral surfaces and timber. The consistent material palette reinforces the continuity between interior, exterior and landscape.
From a distance, the houses recede into their surroundings without disrupting the silhouette of the hillside. Their character is defined by a sensitive relationship with the terrain, the views and the surrounding landscape.
